Helen Keller: Her Life In Pictures
by George Sullivan
Scholastic, 2007
I've been waiting impatiently for this book ever since I saw a partial sample back in the spring. My squeal when I discovered it in the pile of stuff to shelve probably turned a head or two -- I didn't expect it to arrive until the fall. I generally flip out when I discover new photos of Helen Keller, you know, and this book's got 'em. Not a heap of them, but still. When you've got 250 photos, it's nice to see some fresh ones. The sample had just enough to make me drool with aniticipation. The real thing doesn't disappoint. Mind you, I haven't actually *read* the book yet, but I sure do like looking at it. The photos are big and crisp, and the captions are all set off with Braille motifs. I'm confident the text will be just as good as the images -- George Sullivan is the author of one of the better children's bios of Helen Keller.
Check it out.
