Linda Urban, author of the delightful A Crooked Kind of Perfect, has come up with the sort of contest a sock-nerd like me simply can't resist. Anyone who'd like a shot at winning a copy of Linda's book, a CD of Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits, and a pair of toe socks just needs to post a photo of somebody's stocking feet and explain that you're doing so in honor of A Crooked Kind of Perfect. Then post a link here.
Now, since Linda's coming to visit my store next month, I really don't need to win this contest -- I'll get the real thing later. But I absolutely will not pass up the chance to show off a small fragment of my sock collection. Here then, is my official entry:
Those, my friends, are my Hanukkah socks. Yes, I happen to subscribe to the Easter/Christmas holiday package, but like I said, I'm a sock-nerd. I just couldn't pass up those gold-threaded little Stars of David. (Plus, they were on sale.) Besides, folks have already turned in entries with long stripey toe socks to match the cover, so I figured I'd go for obscurity.
Honestly though, this might be my favorite entry so far.
