Clues

Four books still left to identify from Saturday's Books Unmasked challenge: 2, 3, 7, & 11.

Clues:
  • All the remaining books are by Newbery-winners
  • #2 and #1 come from the same family tree, so to speak
  • #7 and #11 also share the same type of relationship

[ETA: closeup of #3 here]

If #2 is related to #1 it must be Lowry's Silent Boy.

Okay, I've never seen the hardcover, so I'm guessing this based on the colors on the paperback and the fact that the little image could be a flying fairy. Would number 3 happen to be PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS?

Nice guess, but nope.

#3 looks like there's a rabbit on the cover...could it be Rabbit Hill by Robert Lawson?

3. Nope

3. I think it looks like a bird in a hairnet. I think it looks like Stuart Little. I THINK WE NEED TO SEE IT CLOSER.

I am so relieved that Noel guessed #2. That one was driving me crazy.

Are 7 and 11 by Robin McKinley?

Also, do you take off points for a bad attitude?

;)

3. Nope
7 & 11. Nope
Attitude: Nope

I think you're right about one thing -- #3 does deserve a closeup. Forthcoming.

Dear Sarah, you read my blog today at www.roomswithaview.typepad.com

The post was regarding your wonderful book, Miss Spitfire. I cannot tell you how happy you have made my daughter. She is a brilliant young (10) year old who skipped 1st grade and is currently in 6th grade. She is so excited that you had the chance to see her project.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment. Also, thank you for writing such a wonderful book.
